Last Saturday, December 9, more than 600 people enjoyed the festivities along the Bagley/Vernor Corridor between 16th and 24th Streets. Festivities featured chestnut and marshmallow roasting, a Mexican procession-Posada, a Puerto Rican Holiday Celebration, a Piñata Fiesta, a theater play, and much more. Families and visitors had a great time.
The holiday spirit was truly alive and well throughout the 9th Annual Southwest Holiday Fest.
El sabado pasado, el 9 de diciembre, más de 600 personas disfrutaron de las festividades a lo largo del corredor Bagley/Vernor entre las calles 16 y 24. Las festividades incluyeron desde asado de castañas y malvaviscos, una procesión-Posada mexicana, una celebración navideña puertorriqueña, una Piñata fiesta, una obra de teatro y mucho más. Las familias y visitantes se lo pasaron muy bien.
El espíritu navideño se sintió vivo durante el noveno Southwest Holiday Fest.
The 9th Annual Southwest Detroit Holiday Fest was proudly presented by: Blitzen’s on Bagley, The Ford Resource and Engagement Center (FREC), Honey Bee Market — La Colmena, Hubbard Richard Residents Association at the Gazebo, Matrix Theatre Company, Mexicantown Community Development Corporation, Plaza del Sol, Roberto Clemente Recreation Center, Southwest Detroit Business Association, The Goblin Detroit, and We the People.
