This past Saturday, The LIBRE Initiative–Michigan brought together local leaders, volunteers, and families for a Back-to-School Supply Giveaway at Iglesia Edificando Vidas in Detroit. Dozens of students received free backpacks and school supplies, while parents learned about educational options and resources available to Michigan families.
The event highlighted the growing support among Latinos for increased educational opportunities. According to recent polling from The LIBRE Institute, three out of four Latinos support school choice, believing families should be able to customize their child’s education.
“We want to ensure every child has the tools and opportunities to succeed in school and in life. Events like this are about more than supplies they’re about empowering families to pursue the American Dream.” – Ricardo Castro, Michigan Strategic Director.
LIBRE Michigan is excited to announce that our ESL (English as a Second Language) classes will be starting next month! These classes are designed to support members of the community who want to strengthen their English skills and create more opportunities for themselves and their families.
