The Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) Hispanic Latino Caucus held their annual meeting at the Michigan Democratic Party Spring Conference this past Saturday, February 11th at Huntington Place in downtown Detroit. They announced election of officers: Bryan Crenshaw, Chair; Veronica Beltran, 1st Vice Chair, Belda Garza, 2nd Vice Chair, Alicia Juarez, Treasurer, and Eva Garza Dewaelsche, Secretary.
“I’m pleased to have been re-elected as 2nd Vice Chair of the Caucus,” said former State Representative Belda Garza. “I look forward to increasing our membership so that we can be a strong voice in the Michigan Democratic Party and across the State of Michigan. There are so many issues that negatively impact our Latino community that are not being addressed. We must be active in the political process in order to be heard.”
“The MDP Hispanic Latino Caucus is approached each election cycle by numerous candidates who want our endorsement,” said Eva Garza Dewaelsche. “It provides us a unique opportunity to ensure that Latinos are represented and that the candidates that the Hispanic Latino Caucus endorses intend to prioritize the issues that are important to our community.”
The MDP Hispanic Latino Caucus is actively seeking new members and currently holds virtual bimonthly meetings. For more information go to: www.mdphispaniclatinocaucus.com or email evadewaelsche@gmail.com, BryanlCrenshaw@gmail.com, bpgarza@yahoo.com
