More than 1,000 folks were treated to an afternoon of winter fun with ice skating, marshmallow roasting, hot chocolate drinking, a petting zoo and horse-drawn carriage rides at the 11th Annual Clark Park Winter Carnival and Charity Hockey Classic. Kids enjoyed outdoor games of broomball, fowling, and corn hole, as the Huron Metroparks, Fire Department, and Mounted Police stopped by, as well. Lots of snacks were consumed, including the ever-popular s’mores. “This had to be our biggest crowd ever,” exclaimed event coordinator and Clark Park business manager Kate Brennan.
The day was capped off by the annual Charity Hockey Classic Women’s and men’s games led by Clark Park’s friend and supporter ML Erick who coordinates the entire evening’s games, adding additional funds to the event’s sponsorships which included Ideal Shield, DTE, and Inkwell Partners. “It’s not too late to help raise an additional $5,000,” said Brennan. “
