In a heartwarming story of community and opportunity, a new non-profit organization is making waves in Detroit by helping young soccer enthusiasts achieve their dreams. Gallos Blancos Detroit, founded by Orlando Espana and co-founded by Anthony Bernal, both dedicated General Motors employees, is committed to empowering kids through the beautiful game of soccer. This initiative aims to open doors for college soccer scholarships and professional careers by connecting aspiring players with professional scouts.

Last weekend, July 12-14, Gallos Blancos Detroit hosted an incredibly successful soccer clinic that saw participation from 56 students hailing from 23 different cities. The event was a testament to the community’s commitment and enthusiasm, with Lawrence Tech expressing interest in five standout players. The clinic was made possible thanks to the generous support of 12 sponsors and partners, whose contributions were deeply appreciated.

The highlight of the event was the selection of three talented students who will represent Gallos Blancos Detroit at the prestigious Alianza De Futbol Soccer Tryouts in Chicago, IL, on July 20-21. In keeping with their mission, Gallos Blancos Detroit will partially sponsor the travel expenses for these students and a parent, ensuring they have the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of additional scouts and potentially take a significant step towards their soccer dreams.

Orlando Espana and Anthony Bernal’s dedication to their community is evident in every aspect of this initiative. By bringing in professional scouts from Mexico’s Liga MX, they have provided these young athletes with unparalleled exposure and a chance to be noticed on a larger stage. This non-profit not only fosters athletic talent but also builds a strong community bond, inspiring hope and ambition in the hearts of many young soccer players.

Gallos Blancos Detroit’s efforts are a shining example of how community involvement and a passion for sports can create life-changing opportunities for the youth. The entire Detroit community is eagerly looking forward to the upcoming tryouts in Chicago, hopeful that these young athletes will shine and achieve their dreams.
