Hollywood is Coming to Detroit

Meet the Actor w/ a Master Class and

Pirates of the Caribbean in Spanish w/ English Subtitles @ Campus Martius!

On July 24, 2024, the award-winning actor, Raul Aldana, is offering a Master Class on “Creating the Character, Not Funny Voices”. He will bring his directorial, acting, and life experiences to work hands on with aspiring actors around the Metro Detroit area. To end the evening, the first Spanish Language Movie is featured on the Wednesdays Movies in the D sponsored by Downtown Detroit Partnership.

The Meet the Actor! Master Class is presented by the non-profit, Mi Ritmo Latin Arts Council and Edutainment and supported by The W Buchanan Group.

The W Buchanan Group, an award-winning wellness company and certified Minority Business Enterprise, is collaborating with the Downtown Detroit Partnership as part of its Wellness for the People platform. This program is part of the emotional health that the W Buchanan Group provides and its series to build community while uplifting Latin culture and business, a direct correlation to its Neighborhub grant as a 2024 awardee. By engaging in fun activities and connecting with others in different ways such as language, these landmark events help to build communities.

The popular Movies in the D at Campus Matius will present the blockbuster movie reenacting Jack Sparrow and Will Turner on the streets of Detroit in Spanish with English Subtitles. The series of events on Wednesday, July 24 include:

  • 10 am – 12 pm EST – Master Class with Raul Aldana: “Creating the Character, Not Funny Voices” sponsored by Grand Valley State University and College of Creative Studies at 460 W Baltimore St., GM Auditorium, Detroit, MI 48201 – Tickets $45.00
  • 6:40 pm – 7:00 pm EST Arrival at Campus Martius – Warm Welcome and Recognition of Sponsors – Campus Martius Park 800 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI –
  • 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm – Piratas del Caribe: En el fin del mundo with English Subtitles – Complimentary
