This means that men can now play roles that were once assigned to women. Men can become multi-tasking house husbands. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! Men are now allowed to feel emotions that they were never allowed to feel before unless they were strange. Even today, men try not to cry in public. Still, we are increasingly allowed to come in touch with our full human souls.
It is acceptable for men not only to cry, but also to love others and give affection. Men can now feel fully human. We can be sensitive without being Sissies. Of course, as a very diverse half of our species, men still have a long way to go before we learn to take full advantage of being completely human. Just because our swords have become useless and our armor has rusted away, does not mean that we know how to be sensitive. Women got Title IX to get into college sports. Men should get T-9ed to take home economics and personal sensitivity course in the K-12 system and in college. How are we ever going to be sensitive souls if no one trains us. That is gender discrimination!
I’m lucky I have home schooling. Otherwise, I would have to spend thousands of dollars to improve myself getting extra instruction. It seems simple, but sometimes it takes a long time to learn the lesson that one has to start with understanding what another human being is feeling and thinking from inside of their head and heart.
Sensitivity is really caring about others as much as I care about myself. Here is a poem that I think expresses my sensitivity, at least in my idealized self-image.
Since I write for and about Humanity, changing a few words in the poem could change it to be about my parents, relatives, friends or any other human who might relate to me.
There is no reason why all our relationships cannot be spiritual, joyous, and uplifting. Especially in challenging times.
Rock Bottom
I will be the rock bottom of your world.
When you trip, stumble, slip, and slide,
When abuse tatters down your strength and pride.
When there is no other where to run and hide.
No more down floors on the free-fall elevator ride.
When you have no more of your self to give,
And your will to fight, tells you it has died.
I will be the rock bottom of your world,
Bedrock deep and stellar high, by China wide.
The rock bottom of a sea of love,
A cosmic sea for you to swim and breath alive.
Come to me, trust my love, and dive.
I will be the rock bottom of your world,
The solar field of dreams on which your pains unfurl.
The burning heart and arms in which your worries melt.
The star-filled pillow, 'round which your aspirations curl.
I will be the rocky bottom of your world.
The home and kitchen of your barefoot dreams,
The heated aro-matic tub in which your aching steams,
The flowering garden for your herbs & greens.
The secret stage on whom you dance and whirl.
The gentle steed who rocks your little girl.
The magic mountain holy cavern sanctuary,
Where forgetfulness wipes away the dreary and the scary.
Above the storm of daily life, rife with strife.
Re-birthing stone from whom you spring and fly.
The runway of your independent, liberated life.
I will be the rock bottom of your world,
Come to me, trust my love, and dive.
Of course, knowing something is one thing. Doing it is another. Not every man is fortunate enough to get the intensive home schooling that I have. We need a national program to help men take up the best qualities of both genders. Then, women would love us more. Then, both men and women would love more the human beings among us who are already there. Then, there would be Peace on Earth.
