This past spring and summer, Michigan Humane hosted a series of pet vaccination and wellness clinics across Southwest Detroit. The clinic season was kicked off in May at the Kemeny Recreation Center Health and Wellness Fair which was followed by clinics at the Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development (LA SED) Senior and Youth Center, Detroit Cristo Rey High School, Scarcyny Park, and ended after Labor Day in Clark Park.

Services provided at the clinics included a variety of vaccinations for cats and dogs, flea and tick prevention treatments, and microchipping. Together with pet owners, Michigan Humane provided care for more than 400 pets in our community.

Matt Pepper, President and CEO at Michigan Humane, expressed the organization’s thanks to its partners at The Ideal Group and PetSmart Charities for making these low-cost clinics possible. He added, “But mostly, we wish to thank our clients for showing us the love and care they provide for their pets.”

Michigan Humane is already working on putting together its 2025 community clinic schedule. To stay connected with Michigan Humane and learn more about how you can access care for your pets, make sure to visit their website at www.MichiganHumane.org. The website is also a great resource to see adoptable animals if you’re looking to add a new pet to your family.

Stay tuned for announcements about clinics in our community in 2025.
