The inaugural Golf Clinic for Southwest Detroit youth was held at Clark Park on Friday, August 18. The Clark Park Coalition partnered with Par Cinco Detroit and First Tee Greater Detroit. Program Director John Page and Detroit Area Program Coordinator Grace Zimmerman led the clinic.

Thirty neighborhood youth participated in the clinic. Participants learned the basics of a golf swing through various stations. A putting area was set up on the ice rink. Each child left with a starter set of clubs to practice at home. It included a driver, wedge, putter, tees, and foam golf balls.
