Detroit is no stranger to tales of dedication, hard work, and success. Oscar Huerta’s story is quickly becoming its latest. Born on March 1, 2006, at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, this young football prodigy is already making waves in the world of soccer.

From an early age, it was evident that Oscar had a passion for soccer. At the tender age of four, he started playing with Club Detroit Pumas. Not only did he play, but he shined, being the leading scorer for nine consecutive years. His dedication, skill, and consistency on the field made him a standout.

However, Oscar’s path veered in a sudden upward trajectory when, as a 16-year-old, he decided to try out for Alianza FC, a first-year semi-pro soccer team based in his neighborhood of Southwest Detroit. Oscar’s decision was not just based on ambition; he wanted to be a part of something special, something that resonated with his roots. Alianza FC, with its mission of nurturing local talent like Oscar and giving them a platform to achieve greater heights, was the perfect fit.

He did not just make the team; he went down in club history as its first scorer and flourished the rest of the season. Within just over a year, his undeniable talent caught the attention of many, including several Division 1 Collegiate programs. Michigan State University and many others have extended scholarship offers already. FC Cincinnati from the MLS also noticed this young talent and offered him a tryout, which led to an immediate invitation to their prestigious U-19 Academy team.

While these achievements would be enough to make anyone proud, Oscar’s tastes remain humble and rooted in his background. A devout fan of the football teams America from Mexico and Barcelona from Spain, his admiration for Lionel Messi is unwavering. And when it comes to music, Oscar stays close to home. His favorite band, ‘Los De La Nueva Herencia,’ was started and has as its lead singer his older brother Carlos Jr.

Oscar’s accomplishments have filled his parents, Carlos sr. and Mary Huerta, with immense pride. They have witnessed his growth from a young child with a ball at his feet to a rising star in the soccer world. Their unwavering support and belief in Oscar’s dreams have been a constant in his life.

Oscar Huerta may be on the path to achieve great things in the world of football, but one thing is certain: his heart will forever belong to Alianza FC, his hometown team. It is the team that provided him with the platform, belief, and opportunity to showcase his talent to the world.

As Oscar’s story continues to unfold, one thing is clear: Detroit has a new star to cheer for, and his name is Oscar Huerta.
