After reciting an ancient prayer the three “amigas” embark on a sacred mission to find their true love. What comes next is the story of Say a Little Prayer, which resonated among audiences when it had its theatrical release in November. Audiences gave the film a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (a site where audiences can cast their vote for their favorite film). Say a Little Prayer truly resonated with audiences making it a “must see” movie on Valentine’s Day and beyond!
“It’s about finding true love, but it’s also about friendship,” says writer Nancy De Los Santos, “I wanted to write about my girlfriends and how deep friendships between women can empower us all.” De Los Santos, a Chicago native, who fell in love with San Antonio, Texas after working as a producer on the film Selena, tells us how it was her grandmother who inspired the film. “My grandmother gave me a prayer to St. Anthony, who’s the saint in charge of finding a lost item. She told me my husband was ‘lost’ because I was 30 years old and still unmarried.” Adding “the city of San Antonio is named after this saint, and is a perfect setting for a romantic movie.”
Early on, during a location scout for the film in Texas, lead producer Cristina Nava, felt the city could provide the best “practical locations” for filming—real places that add to the beauty of the story with its landscapes. “We didn’t need to build any sets,” Nava said. “We simply pointed our cameras at incredible locations including the River Walk, San Fernando Cathedral, art galleries, and even a golf course.”
Director Patrick Perez Vidauri remarked on the significance of the film, “It was important for all of us to bring this inclusive, Tejano-flavored story to life. I’m proud to help shine a light on Latino culture in our country and enrich our cinematic tapestry.”

Al principio, durante una búsqueda de locaciones para la película en Texas, la productora principal Cristina Nava sintió que la ciudad podría ofrecer las mejores “locaciones prácticas” para filmar, lugares reales que sumaran a la belleza de la historia con sus paisajes. “No necesitamos construir sets”, dijo Nava. “Simplemente apuntamos nuestras cámaras a locaciones increíbles, como el River Walk, la Catedral de San Fernando, galerías de arte e incluso un campo de golf.”
