Argentina es conocida por sus cortes, sus empanadas, sus tangos y Gardel; La vasta
extensión territorial conglomera un sin fin de sitios y lugares excepciones, como lo son las ruinas de Jujuy y Quilmes, la cordillera andina, las cataratas de Iguazú, así como la majestuosa Patagonia con su Tierra de Fuego y la Tierra del Fin del Mundo, en el extremo sur del continente. Con una diversa cantidad de ecosistemas que van desde los bosques de la Patagonia, los glaciares, el desierto, su larga zona costera, así como su selva con sus grandes cascadas.

Con su capital Buenos Aires al pie del Océano Atlántico, lo que le ha dado su singular identidad portuaria, no por nada el gentilicio de quienes nacen-viven en Buenos Aires es Porteños.
El carácter marino de la ciudad le ha dado identidad nostálgica y apasionante que se refleja en sus
tangos.

Las majestuosas Cataratas del Iguazú con más de 250 saltos de agua en la Selva Paranaense en la desembocadura del Río Iguazú en las aguas del río Paraná, en la frontera que conjunta las ciudades de Puerto Iguazú en el lado argentino; Foz do Iguaçu en el lado brasileño; y el conglomerado urbano Ciudad del Este/Presidente Franco, del lado paraguayo. Las cataratas se extienden en casi dos millas de longitud y sus saltos caen desde una altura que puede alcanzar hasta los 82 metros (269 pies).

Y aunque es poco sabido, Argentina cuenta también con sitios de arquitecturas prehispánicas que desde 1910 los historiadores, estudiosos, arqueólogos, científicos y activistas han presionado para la protección, restauración y recuperación de sitios que den visibilidad a las grandes culturas que se asentaron antes de la llegada de los europeos al continente americano.

Tilcara, Jujuy
Tilcara está ubicada en la provincia de Jujuy en Argentina, al pie del Río Grande en una región desértica montañosa. Tilcara se encuentra a tan sólo 3 horas en auto de la frontera norte con Bolivia y 6 horas en auto de la frontera con Chile. Tilcara esconde una de las maravillas arquitectónicas de Argentina en el desierto a 3,180 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Se han encontrado indicios de que esta región fue habitada desde hace más de 10,000 años por diferentes pueblos, entre ellos: quechuas, uquías, incas y tilcaras entre los años 1000 y 1480 de nuestra era.

Los visitantes que llegan a Tilcara buscan la Quebrada de Humahuaca y el Pucará.

La Quebrada de Humahuaca es como se le llama al paisaje montañoso que rodea el valle del pueblo de Tilcara. La Quebrada de Humahuaca muestra en su serranía la transición de colores que van desde los tonos claros del amarillo en su transición a los diferentes colores de ocre, El Pucará, es el sitio histórico arqueológico que se puede visitar en el mismo Tilcara.

Tilcara cuenta también con un jardín botánico que vale la pena, sin duda, visitar.

Argentina

Argentina is known for its Beef, its empanadas, its tangos and Gardel; The vast territorial
extension conglomerates an endless number of sites and exceptional places, such as the ruins of Jujuy and Quilmes, the Andean mountain range, the Iguazú waterfalls, as well as the majestic Patagonia with its Tierra de Fuego and the Land of the End of the World. In the extreme south of the continent, Argentina contains a diverse number of ecosystems that go from the forests, glaciers, desert, its long coastal zone, as well as its jungle with its great waterfalls.

With its capital Buenos Aires by the Atlantic Ocean, which has given to the city its unique port identity, this is the reason that the gentilic of those who are born and live in Buenos Aires is Porteños. The marine character of the city has given it a nostalgic and passionate feeling that is reflected in its tangos.

The majestic Iguazu Falls with more than 250 waterfalls in the Paranaense Jungle at the
mouth of the Iguazu River in the waters of the Paraná River, on the border that joins the cities of
Puerto Iguazú on the Argentine side; Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side; and the urban
conglomerate Ciudad del Este/Presidente Franco, on the Paraguayan side. The falls extend for almost two miles in length and their jumps fall from a height that can reach up to 82 meters (269 feet).

And although it is little known, Argentina also has sites of pre-Hispanic architecture, which since 1910 historians, scholars, archaeologists, scientists and activists have pushed for the protection, restoration and recovery of sites that give visibility to the great cultures that settled before the arrival of the Europeans to the American continent.

Tilcara, Jujuy
Tilcara is located in the Jujuy province of Argentina, by the Rio Grande in a mountainous desert region. Tilcara is located just 3 hours by car from the northern border with Bolivia and 6 hours by car from the western border with Chile.

Tilcara hides one of the architectural wonders of Argentina in the desert at 3,180 meters above sea level.

There is some evidence that has been found that this region was inhabited since 10,000 years ago by different peoples, including the more recents: Quechuas, Uquías, Incas and Tilcaras between the years 1000 and 1480 AD.

Visitors who come to Tilcara look for the Quebrada de Humahuaca and the Pucará.

The Quebrada de Humahuaca is the name given to the mountainous landscape that surrounds the valley of the town of Tilcara. The Humahuaca Ravine shows in its mountain range the transition of colors that go from the light shades of yellow in its transition to the different colors of ochre.

The Pucará is the historical archaeological site that can be visited in Tilcara itself.
Tilcara also has a botanical garden that is definitely worth visiting.
