After more than 120 years of business, Ford Motor Company opened the first-ever retail store  on Monday, August 24.   Located on the Oakwood Blvd. side of the new World HQ, and just a block from the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, & the Visitor Center, the media and Ford employees got a first glimpse of the stunning architecture and displays that are now open to the public.

The retail store takes the historic blue oval FORD and Ford Racing images  and combines them with consumer marketing and fashion by designers the likes of Carhartt, Filson, Red Bull Racing, Lego, etc.   The store gets its special vibe from its proximity to the World HQ,  The Henry Ford, Greenfield Village combined with vehicles on display and three other special spaces to experience.  The store is open to the general public from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday and will be catering to the Ford employees on and off the campus.

Ford Racing  has a current display of six vehicles ranging from off-road vehicles to open wheel racers.  The racing exhibit has an impressive display of trophies, race memorabilia, and artifacts related to the 125 year pedigree of Ford as a competitor in motor sports.

Lincoln has a special heritage space with a classic 1940’s Continental on display.   The space is a tribute to Edsel Ford’s vision and determination to add luxury and beauty to Lincoln’s premium status.  While not a public space, it will be accessible to World HQ employees as a collaborative event space

The Vault is another space in the complex devoted to displaying and celebrating Ford’s open archives that document the company’s history, innovation, and historic role in world events.  A significant portion of the archives are on-line and open to the public.
