Season Fair is pleased to present its inaugural edition, taking place from September 25–28, 2025. The fair will transform the sixth floor of Michigan Central into a dynamic exhibition space for contemporary art. As the first contemporary art fair in Detroit, Season will bring together 11 leading galleries from across North America, alongside Detroit Presents —a curatorial initiative featuring 10 artists living and working in the city. The program will also include Off Season, a series of citywide public events and activations.
Season presents a rigorous, forward-thinking commercial exhibition that fosters cross-cultural dialogue and drives institutional exchange. The fair prioritizes both global reach and local impact, activating new collecting networks in Metro Detroit and amplifying the city’s dynamic contributions to contemporary art. Collectors can acquire works on-site or access them online through Arcual, a secure digital platform offering collectors expanded access during and beyond fair hours.

Programming
Season Talks
Season will also debut Season Talks, convening influential local and national voices from the art world in a series of intimate conversations at the fair. The program will explore critical issues in contemporary art, including market access, the role of regional influence, and the evolving responsibilities of artists and institutions. Designed to foster reflection and cultural exchange, Season Talks will bring together artists, galleries, curators, writers, and thought leaders to engage with Detroit’s past, present, and future through the lens of contemporary practice.
Off Season
In addition, the fair will debut Off Season, a series of engaging public programs staged across Detroit. Off Season offers intimate engagements with the city’s cultural fabric, including tours, artist studio visits, institutional activations, and nightlife and culinary events designed to cultivate meaningful exchange between local communities and visitors.

Season Fair traces its roots to Detroit Art Week, a citywide initiative launched in 2018 to celebrate Detroit-based contemporary artists, galleries, and cultural institutions. Organized by Detroit Art Week, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and produced by Olu & Company, the program presented two acclaimed editions in 2018 and 2019. While public programming has since concluded, its mission—to advance equity and access in the arts—lives on through a fundraising partnership with Season Fair.
