Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year

From EL CENTRAL Hispanic News!

It’s been another eventful year for the team at EL CENTRAL Hispanic News! We take pride in bringing our readers the “most original” and “most local” stories for and about the Latino community and residents of Southwest Detroit and the metro area.

By the nature of what we do, our team doesn’t always have the chance to meet face to face but we took the opportunity to gather last week for a holiday dinner at Armando’s Mexican Restaurant (just a short walk down the block from the EL CENTRAL office on W Vernor).
Writers and photographers – who often work alone – got to meet the editors and graphic artists who polish their stories with images and prose fit for final publication. The evening featured great Mexican dishes, spirits and music punctuated by a raffle personally sponsored by publisher Eva Garza Dewaelsche (who loves giving out the raffle prizes as much as the winners enjoy receiving them).

The roster of EL CENTRAL team members and writers who contributed stories about our community this past year appears at right. We all hope you enjoy and benefit from the information we have shared with you. It is our commitment to bring even more local stories and resources to you, our readers, in 2024.

Best wishes for a very blessed holiday season and a prosperous new year!
