The third edition of the Concert of Colors with MexicantownCDC is part of the Concert of Colors Neighborhood Series “We Tell These Truths: All Humans Are Created Equal.”
On Saturday, June 30, in a powerful display of unity, individuals from diverse backgrounds and generations came together to celebrate their culture, dancing and singing along to the incredible Grammy Award-winning La Santa Cecilia at the MexicantownCDC Mercado Plaza.
The concert opened with a performance by young local singers Tommy Papi, Camila Cantù, Belle, and 2Down, who energized the audience. This was followed by a live interview on stage featuring La Santa Cecilia and journalist Betto Arcos, who also served as the event’s MC.
The 2026 Concert of Colors x MexicantownCDC was dedicated to Ismael Ahmed, founder of the Concert of Colors, and made possible with support from the Gilbert Family Foundation, Smithsonian, Kresge Arts in Detroit, WDET, Detroit PBS, and Mexicantown Community Development Corporation.

La tercera edición del Concierto de Colores con MexicantownCDC forma parte de la Serie de Vecindarios del Concierto de Colores “Contamos Estas Verdades: Todos los Humanos Son Creados Iguales.” El sábado 30 de junio, en una grandiosa muestra de unidad, personas de diferentes orígenes y generaciones se reunieron para celebrar su cultura, bailando y cantando junto a la increíble banda ganadora del Grammy, La Santa Cecilia, en el Mercado Plaza de MexicantownCDC.
El concierto comenzó con una presentación de jóvenes cantantes locales Tommy Papi, Camila Cantù, Belle y 2Down, quienes energizaron al público. Acto seguido, el grupo La Santa Cecilia participo en una entrevista dirigida por el periodista cultural Betto Arcos, quien también actuó como maestro de ceremonias del evento.
