MANA de Metro Detroit is thrilled to announce that our scholarship application is now open. As of 2025, our organization has awarded 187 scholarships to Latina students pursuing a higher education or trade/vocational education. Our mission is to empower our scholarship recipients and improve their quality of life through education, leadership development, and advocacy.

Our scholarship program has supported MANA scholars in covering the cost of tuition, books and supplies, transportation and housing needs.

This year we are awarding six different types of scholarships to qualified Latina high school students, current Latina college students, as well as those attending a trade or vocation school/programs and who reside in the Metro Detroit area.

Each scholarship award is in the amount of $2,000.00. The scholarships are combined in one application. Applicants that meet the requirements may apply for one or more scholarships. However, if selected, they will only be awarded one $2,000.00 scholarship.

Please visit the MANA of Metro Detroit website: https://www.manademetrodetroit.com/#scholarships, to view information about each scholarship and complete the application. The scholarships are:
MANA de Metro Detroit General Scholarship

  • Carmen Muñoz Entrepreneurship Scholarship
  • Monica L. Martinez Leadership Scholarship
  • Dr. Ellen Ochoa STEM Scholarship
  • Gloria Rosas Teacher Education Scholarship
  • Eva Garza Dewaelsche Community Service Scholarship

Previous scholarship recipients may re-apply if they meet the eligibility criteria and submit all required application material. The deadline for returning all applications electronically is no later than Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

If you have any questions, please email us at scholarship@manademetrodetroit.com.

On behalf of MANA de Metro Detroit and members of the MANA Scholarship committee, we are thankful for the generosity of our donors and sponsors that make it possible for us to provide yearly scholarships. In addition, we appreciate everyone’s support in ensuring that the scholarship information is distributed widely in our Metro Detroit communities, local high schools and universities.

  • Beca STEM Dr. Ellen Ochoa
