The Godfrey Hotel Detroit & I/O Rooftop Lounge Opens

Detroit’s newest hotel, The Godfrey Hotel Detroit, opened with great fanfare in Corktown on September 7. The 227-room luxury lifestyle hotel located at 1401 Michigan Avenue, also features a 5,000 sq ft ballroom for weddings, corporate and special events, in-room dining and a fitness center.

I/O Rooftop Lounge is Detroit’s largest open-air rooftop bar, has a retractable glass panel roof for year-round access and offers panoramic of views of the city’s skyline. I/O Rooftop Lounge is open daily and has its own elevator for non-hotel guests to utilize the multiple bars and lounge, meeting areas and event spaces.

The property, just blocks from Michigan Central Station – Ford’s new billion-dollar campus, combines The Godfrey Hotel brand ethos which revolves around a vibrant nightlife, dynamic dining options, sophisticated architecture, cutting-edge technology, high-touch service, culture, and prime location.

The Godfrey Hotel Detroit features multiple dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner including at I/O, Lobby Bar and in-room dinning. Hamilton’s, a collaboration with Samy Eid of Chickpea Hospitality featuring classic American fare, will be located on the first floor with a separate entrance on Michigan Avenue, will open later this fall.

The hotel has five room options, including pet-friendly rooms, plus digital check-in, valet parking and four flexible meeting spaces. The hotel began taking reservations and booking events for the ballroom and meeting spaces in July.

The Godfrey Hotel Detroit is near the City Center and Michigan Central, and local attractions including Comerica Park, MGM Grand, Little Caesars Arena, Ford Field and is one-mile from Detroit River Walk. The property is also close to Detroit’s top restaurants, theatres, concert venues, convention centers, boutique shops, bars and breweries.
